T-Shirts for the 2012 Tour

While I had personalised t-shirts for the concerts in 2010 they were no longer suitable for this tour so firstly I got two t-shirts made thinking that would be plenty. However I’m not too keen on one of them because I’ve decided grey isn’t a colour for me so that will now be a night-dress! This one did however survive my quality control and is my officially my first concert t-shirt of 2012 in honour of my favourite song from Old Ideas. Enter exhibit 1:

Having a polka dot top I felt sorted for the two Ghent concerts thinking I’d get official t-shirts there for the Dublin concerts there. Alas then came Joey’s post on Camp Cohen with the “Keep Calm And Cohen On” sign with the unified heart and I immediately saw the potential for a t-shirt so it was down to the drawing board and time to design a t-shirt which took me hours as I don’t have Photoshop. If I had that at my disposal t-shirt designing would be a much easier job but probably just as well I don’t as one does not have a bottomless pit of money to buy these.  Enter exhibit 2: (note: the work was worth it as Joey loved this, see the photo he took of me with Mandy who I also ordered one of these t-shirts for  https://myleonardcohenjourney.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/16-gwen-and-mandy.jpg?w=700&h=

As there was only a few days between ordering this t-shirt and leaving for Ghent I needed to order using priority shipping so to make that worth my while I decided to order just one more t-shirt using a photo I had taken of Leonard in Katowice 2010 holding a rose where I changed all the image except the rose to black and white. Enough already I heard the sensible voice in my head say but then came the sign in Ghent of the silhouette of Leonard and the idea developes in my head that this is another great t-shirt idea. I have to thank Dr.HGuy though for his idea of the little editing to the hat, see here: http://drhguy.posterous.com/leonard-cohen-sign The addition of Leonard’s words to the sign were my own idea. Again though I needed to justify shipping costs so just one more t-shirt needed to be ordered. The grey t-shirt mentioned at the top of this post had Hallelujah written on it and even though the grey didn’t suit me I still wanted a Hallelujah t-shirt as it is my favourite of all Leonard’s songs and is in my opinion the greatest song every written. While in Ghent my friend Mandy had a t-shirt with a while silhouette of Leonard’s face which I loved so I decided to combine the image and Hallelujah so here is final t-shirt…………………. for now…………… Enter exhibit 5:

So here the story of t-shirts ends, for now. Maybe the Dublin concerts will inspire more moments of madness or maybe I will become sensible. May I add I did buy one official t-shirt on the merchandise stall, this one I could not resist. http://www.leonardcohen.com/us/blog/oh-sweet-larger-family-shirt-finally-here-love-design-used-be-all-access-pass-we-all-loved Luckily for my bank balance none of the others come in my size 😉
